A Note on This Blog
I previously have posted on Board Game Geek (BGG) with this blog but figured that I would keep it in a second place just in case. All previous posts can be found here if you would like to read them as they come out: Journey Into the Unknown Blog.
The End is Where We Begin
So I've seen so many people post blogs about what they are playing from week to week and what they think about the games that they are playing. I've joined numerous geeklist that post weekly and I always feel like there's so much more for me to say that I thought I would start my own blog process and document what is going on in my plays and put down my thoughts here.
It's not going to be pretty. It's sometimes going to be extremely short. It sometimes will contain a bunch of rambling thoughts that will make no sense whatsoever to anyone but me. But that's the fun in blogging things out!
I'm going to try to keep a weekly scheduled posting here on this blog, with potential additions coming throughout the week, but we'll see how long this actually happens.
What Prompted the Blog?
As I mentioned above, I have lots of thoughts on what I've been playing through the week and although I extensively log my plays (my user profile and logged plays), I usually have more to say than what I post on the plays. I also am doing a 10x10 Challenge for 2024 (LinktoDarkness's 10x10 Challenge List) but never really feel like I get all my thoughts out on either of the locations. I also do post on the weekly What Did You Play This Week (What Did You Play This Week Thread), but again, I try to be more simplistic in my descriptions of my plays.
My hope is that I can really start to dive into my plays, thoughts about games throughout the week, and promote some discussion here on Board Game Geek. This is such an awesome community and I love being able to interact with y'all about what is going on.
Ok, What Comes Next?
To say that I have a plan for this blog would be a wild overstatement. I'm going to try to keep it fairly easy to read and I might have a generalized schedule of what I post through the week, but that has yet to be determined.
My hope is that once I get rolling on this, I'll be able to start putting out regular posts throughout the week. Might have a game design discussion on Monday, new games that excite me on Wednesday, and thoughts on some of the games I played on Friday. That's a tentative schedule for now, but like I said, don't hold me to this since I'm ADHD to the extreme.
I look forward to the discussion that comes up with this blog and hope that some good discussion is promoted through this blog.
